General Dematology

Skin conditions can vary widely, from common problems to more complex or long-standing concerns.

As a consultant dermatologist, I offer clear assessment, diagnosis, and treatment across all areas of general dermatology for both adults and children, including skin surgery when needed.

My approach to dermatology care is grounded in careful listening, clinical expertise, and evidence-based medicine. I believe dermatology starts with understanding you as a person as well as your skin, so I take time to explore your concerns, overall health, and how your skin condition affects your daily life.

As skin conditions rarely exist in isolation, I also look beyond visible symptoms to consider underlying causes, lifestyle factors, and long-term skin health, allowing me to offer personalised care focused on sustainable results.

Diagnoses, treatment options, and management plans are always explained clearly, so you feel informed, supported, and in control of your care.

How I approach dermatology care

I regularly assess and treat a wide range of conditions, including inflammatory skin diseases, infections, and disorders affecting the hair and nails. This includes conditions such as:

  • Eczema and dermatitis

  • Acne

  • Psoriasis

  • Rosacea

  • Urticaria

  • Hair loss (alopecia)

  • Nail problems

  • Birthmarks

  • Excessive sweating

Conditions managed

Skin surgery is a routine part of dermatology care and is offered where appropriate for both medical and cosmetic reasons.

I regularly perform surgical procedures to remove skin cancers and benign lesions, with careful attention to both clinical safety and aesthetic outcomes. For more complex cases, particularly those involving the face, I work closely with specialist colleagues in plastic and reconstructive surgery to ensure the right expertise is involved.

Procedures performed include:

  • Removal of skin cancers

  • Removal of benign moles and other benign lesions

  • Biopsies to help diagnose inflammatory skin conditions

  • Hair biopsies, where needed, to investigate the cause of hair loss

  • Steroid injections for selected conditions, including hair loss and scar or keloid treatment
