Dr Hayley Smith: BSc, MBBS (Merit), MRCP (Med), MRCP (Derm)

I’m a Consultant Dermatologist based in Leeds, with specialist interests in melanoma, acne and skin longevity.

I completed my dermatology training at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, where I developed expertise in managing complex skin conditions, including skin cancer, acne and inflammatory skin disease.

Since then, I’ve worked across the NHS and in private practice, caring for a wide range of skin and hair concerns.

Alongside my clinical work, I hold a postgraduate diploma in skin ageing and aesthetic medicine. I’m the Training Programme Director for Dermatology in Leeds, an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Leeds, and a member of the British Association of Dermatologists National Audit Subcommittee.

Before studying medicine at the University of Newcastle, I completed a degree in Psychology. This has shaped how I work with patients and how I think about skin health. I understand the impact skin conditions can have on confidence, well-being, and day-to-day life, not just appearance.
